BAĞLICA VILLAGE ROCK CHURCH

The rock church is located on the high mountain peak, known as Keleha Kasre by the local people, about 600 m north of the village of Bağlıca, which is within the borders of Gercüş district of Batman province. Baglica Village is located 29.26 km south of Batman city center and 20.08 km west of Gercüş district.
The church, located in a mountainous area, has a single nave and measures 7.30x4.60m and its height is around 2.00m. The entrance dimensions in the south are 2.00 m wide, 1.80 m high and 0.80 m deep (Picture 1). In the eastern section, there is a representative apse carved into the rock (Picture 2-3).
