The cemetery is located in the west of the village of Alıçlı, which is within the borders of Kozluk district of Batman province. The village of Alıçlı is located 64 km northeast of Batman city center and 9 km northeast of Kozluk town centre.

In addition to the Islamic Period tombstones, there are also unwritten tombstones and tombstones that cannot be associated with any religion or ethnic group in the cemetery area. The absence of writing on the tombstones with different geometric shapes, human figures and ornamental samples with various objects does not provide concrete information about their origins. Since some of the objective figures resemble examples of military items (dagger, cartridge holder, flask, medallion), this brings them closer to the Islamic period tombstones found in the surrounding provinces (Cizre, Mardin, Tunceli, Siirt, etc.), suggesting that at least some of them are Islamic tombstones. There is a great deal of destruction in the cemetery area. Most of the tombstones have been displaced or toppled on the spot. There is a modern period cemetery just south of the old cemetery.
