The rock dwellings are located in the area known as the "Village" locality in the region, which is within the borders of the Arık (Dera Ser) hamlet of the Boğözü village of the Gercüş district of Batman province. Bağözü village is located 81 km south of Batman city center and 22 km southwest of Gercüş district centre.

In the inventory studies carried out in the area, 20 rock dwellings were identified. Most of the rock dwellings are in ruins. Among the rock dwellings in the area, 4 single space and 1 complex rock dwellings were examined. Single space rock dwellings show rectangular and almost square rectangular plan features. There are niches in different sizes for various uses in the houses.

Complex rock houses consist of 2 spaces. These spaces are divided into the front entrance room and the main space. Some of the complex houses are located in sections used as warehouses. Most of the rock dwellings in the area were used as animal shelters in the later periods. As a matter of fact, the animal mooring holes in the dwellings show this. One single-spaced rock dwelling in the area is used by shepherds as a living space. There is destruction in all of the rock dwellings.
