It is located on the third kilometer of the Hasankeyf-Gercüş highway, on the slope facing the south bank of the Tigris River. The zawiyah got its name from the tomb, which is thought to belong to a person called Sheikh Sultan by the local people. However, there is no information about the identity of Sheikh Sultan and the period in which he lived.
It was unearthed during the 2011 excavation period under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Abdüsselam ULUÇAM and its plan features were determined. The zawiya consists of a tomb, an iwan and non-parallel dervish cells, which are thought to surround the inner courtyard in a U-plan order, and 7 spaces used as kitchens and cellars (Fig.).
