KIRKAT VILLAGE ROCK TOMB NO. 5

The rock tomb no. 5 is located in the rocky area 350 m south of Kırkat village of Gercüş district of Batman province. Kırkat village is located 39.35km south of Batman center and 8km west of Gercüş district center.
The entrance to the tomb is located in the north. The entrance has a corridor structure. The entrance door has a representative lintel and jamb formed by shaping the rock. There are steps at the entrance of the tomb. These steps have been severely damaged due to abrasion (Picture 1).
It is a tomb with six klines. In the lower part of the floor of six klines, there are six tombs with khamasorion. There are 12 graves in total in the cemetery area. Since the rock tomb is used as a warehouse today (Picture 2), it has not been studied in detail.
