KHAMOSORION(STONE SARCOPHAGUS) TOMB

The Khamasorion (Stone Sarcophagus) tomb is located in the canyon valley 200m south of Hasankeyf Castle, located in the center of Hasankeyf district in Batman province. The inner part of the tomb, which was formed by processing a large rock mass with an average size of 3.50x3.50 m, located on the eastern slope of the valley, was filled with soil.
A burial was made on the 0.80 m high surface of the mass rock from the fill. The tomb measures 1.55m x 0.58m. The ground where the dead body was placed is covered with filled soil.
