prof. Dr. Within the scope of Hasankeyf excavations carried out under the Presidency of Abdüsselam ULUÇAM, Prof. Dr. Hasankeyf Höyük excavations, which started under the scientific responsibility of Gülriz KOZBE, have been carried out by Prof.Dr. It is conducted under the scientific consultancy of Yutaka MİYAKE.

Rising 1.5km east of Hasankeyf, on the north bank of the Tigris River, Hasankeyf Höyük covers an area of 200.00 x 160.00 m2. During the excavations carried out between 2009 and 2014, findings from the Aceramic Neolithic, Iron Age and Hellenistic Ages were found in Hasankeyf Höyük.

The Neolithic Period layers of Hasankeyf Höyük are dated to the second half of the 10th millennium BC by radiocarbon measurements. These dates show that the settlement was almost contemporary with other Pre-Pottery Neolithic settlements in the Upper Tigris Basin, such as Hallan Çemi, Demirköy Höyük, Körtik Tepe and Gusir Höyük. As a result of the studies carried out in the region, it has been determined that common cultural elements are shared in many aspects, from architecture to burial traditions, from stone tools to small finds.
