Boriş rocky area settlement is located 4.30 km northwest of Arıca village in Gercüş district. Arıca village is located 50km southeast of Batman center and 9km southeast of Gercüş district center.

The settlement was built on the rocky hill dominating the region and was seated on the bedrock. A defensive wall was built around the settlement with cut and rubble stones. Lime-added mortar was used on some parts of the walls. In order to meet the water needs of the settlement, 7 cisterns were observed in various parts of the hill. In addition, there is a rock tomb on the south of the hill and a niche carved into the rock on the northern slope. Rectangular and square planned structures were built by leveling the bedrock on the hill. Remains of architectural structures made of irregular and cut stones have survived from these structures. On the northwest skirt of the hill, there are wall remains made of cut and rubble stones. Again in this area, there are 2 rock dwellings, one of which is a complex and the other is a single space.
